Benton Preciado

Cello Faculty

Benton Preciado is a freelance cellist and cello instructor in the greater Los Angeles area. Benton received his Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach and studied with Joon-Sung Jun. As a freelance musician, Benton has performed with The Southeast Symphony, The Afro American Chamber Music Society Orchestra, the American Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as many other ensembles. Benton is also an active chamber and studio musician and has collaborated with Natalie Cole, Rihanna, and has appeared on an episode of GLEE.

As a teacher, Benton has been teaching privately since 2010. From 2011-13, Benton has worked as an assistant to Martine Verhoeven in the beginning strings classes at Santa Monica College. Benton also worked as a lower strings coach at Paramount High School from 2015-17 and occasionally coaches and performs with the cello section of the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles.
